Ram Jack west commercial case study

Installing Foundation to Seismic Code

Scope of work

Situation: PacifiCorp West Coast Energy Company was in the process of updating their facilities and was required to ensure new structures met seismic criteria. The general contractor on the project reached out to Ram Jack West, an expert in deep foundations, to design and install new construction pilings that met seismic code requirements.

Solution: Ram Jack West furnished and installed (18) 6-inch cased grouted micro piles to capacity of 64 kips (equal to 64,000 pounds). Before production was in motion for this project Ram Jack West had performed two sacrificial test piles to 200% to make sure the pile design met geotechnical recommendations for soil bond. The casing was installed using an Sp15 vibratory hammer to refusal and then drilled through using a TEI 360. This project took roughly three weeks to complete and was on track with the general contractor from start to finish.

Results: Ram Jack West installed the new foundation up to seismic code and criteria, ensuring the building structure was safe and set up for success.
