Situation: The homeowners of a waterfront Gig Harbor property experienced a failing seawall and cracked bulkhead due to soil loss behind the 115-foot wall. Soil movement is common for homes in the Pacific Northwest, especially those that are built near water and/or on an elevation.
Solution: Ram Jack West Seawall Solutions included the use of (11) Helical Tieback anchors, (195) gallons of polymer soil-stabilizing foam, (11) 4” Jet Filter drain systems to reduce hydrostatic soil pressure from behind the wall, and (6) carbon fiber straps to reinforce existing wall-cracks greater that 1/2 inch. This approach utilized multiple Ram Jack repair methods to ensure an effective, long-lasting solution that addresses every aspect of retaining wall support and stabilization.
Outcome: Ram Jack West restored the integrity of another Puget Sound Seawall with high-quality, sustainable products. The homeowners are pleased with the project outcome and have stated they will refer Ram Jack West to anyone who needs foundation or seawall repair.
